Biography

Jean-Louis Mas is Professor of Neurology and the Head of the Department of Neurology at the Hospital Sainte-Anne, University of Paris, France.

Dr Mas’s main research and clinical interests are patent foramen ovale (PFO) and stroke, atrial septal aneurysm, epidemiology of cerebral infarctions, diagnostics in stroke (CT, MRI), ischaemic events in young adults and pregnants, antithrombotic stroke therapy, angiopathy and encephalopathy and angioplasty of atherosclerotic stenosis.

Dr Mas is one of the contributors of the Recommendations for the Creation of Neuro-Vascular Units and the chairman of the PFO-ASA-Study.

Dr Mas has authored and co-authored more than 80 excellent publications on cerebrovascular diseases in journals such as Stroke, Cerebrovascular Diseases, JAMA, the Journal of Neurology, Neurology, Revue Neurologique, the American Heart Journal, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
