Biography

Bo Norrving is Professor in Neurology at Lund University in Sweden.

Dr Norrving’s main research interests are epidemiology, clinical trials, small vessel disease, and health care research and implementation. Current research projects also involve long term outcome aspects after stroke and levels of physical activity among stroke survivors. Dr Norrving was the corresponding author for the Swedish Aspirin Low-dose Trial (SALT).

He is a member of the Swedish Quality Board for Carotid Surgery, and the steering committee of Riks-stroke - a Swedish national quality register for stroke care. He is a founding member of the European Stroke Council, chairman of the EFNS Stroke Scientists’ panel, member of the programme committee of the European Stroke Conferences, and secretary of the International Stroke Society. Since July 2005 he is also a European Associate Editor of Stroke.

He is co-editor of the book Subcortical Stroke published by Oxford University Press, and has an extensive bibliography in the stroke field.
